OMB Inconsistency
In the file below a physician was accused in a 2011 Emergency Suspension Order of inappropriately evaluating and treating a patient he saw from 2004 to 2010. The patient was treated an unspecified number of times by this physician for the presumptive diagnosis of gout. The OMB chastised this physician for never doing a uric acid level or a JOINT ASPIRATION FOR URIC ACID CRYSTALS. Did I just read that correctly? I agree with the OMB that a serum uric acid level needs to be performed, but at the appropriate time - NOT during an acute gout attack. I also agree that a JOINT ASPIRATION FOR URIC ACID CRYSTALS should be performed for conformation of disease. This is exactly what I stated to the OMB on multiple occasions, including my hearing. I stated that to confirm the diagnosis of gout a JOINT ASPIRATION FOR URIC ACID CRYSTALS is needed.
So in January of 2011, I was told that no joint aspiration was necessary to confirm the diagnosis of gout (see "Dr. Dover's Story" page). Then in December of 2012 this physician is told a joint aspiration is required to make a confirmatory diagnosis of gout. Which statement is correct? The OMB statements of appropriate evaluation and treatment of the proposed diagnosis of gout are polar opposites in these two cases. Why? Only one reason. The OMB does whatever it likes to destroy a physician they don't want in medicine any longer. Even if it means lying, contradicting themselves or ignoring facts.
Lastly, never trust anything the OMB writes regarding licensees. The OMB, Kathleen Haley, Nicole Krishnaswami, AAG Warren Foote and AAG Katherine DiSalle just flat out lie.
